Welcome to the PinguinPool! This accessible enclosure, in particular the artificial rock wall, has been designed after the natural habitat of the endangered tailcoat-wearers: the coastal regions of Northern Chile and Peru at the cold Humboldt Current. The entire facility was covered with a net structure, so that Inca terns and ducks can be kept there in addition to the Humboldt penguins.
The PinguinPool gives these animals a generous habitat close to nature and enables visitors to directly experience their environment: They can observe the animals from inside the accessible facility. A path leads across the land part of 550 sqm and onto a bridge, from where our penguins can be watched while swimming. A generous panorama pane even makes it possible to admire the rapid swimmers underwater!
