Spotted, stripped, or dotted and with large ears: Visitors will find fascinating sights when passing through the predators' enclosure of the Krefeld zoo. The jaguars self-confidently patrol their ground. The name of jaguar is based on the word "yaguar", which means "he who hunts in flight". This is the only place where you will be able to see the smart river otters, which are nearly extinct in the wild.
Cheetahs show off their delicate beauty. Jaguarundis, the miniature version of the American cougar, are a rare sight in zoos. The animal keepers' loving attention and patience have brought the zoo great breeding success in the last decades. The zoo is particularly proud of its snow leopard breeding program. More than 50 snow leopard babies have been born here already. That made it easy to choose a large cat as the zoo's logo.
